Q. What is
the SIL consultation process with Vista Research clients?
Vista Research clients, traditionally hedge fund and mutual
fund analysts, submit requests to Vista Research based on their
industry research or investment theses. Vista Research then
searches its database to identify when Society of Industry Leaders
Members best match this request. Consultations are usually done
over the phone, at your convenience, and generally last 30-45
minutes. The consultation process is as follows:
- When a client is interested in speaking directly with a
SIL Member, a Vista Research representative will contact the SIL
Member beforehand to provide more information about what
questions the client may ask during the consultation. If the SIL
Member has the appropriate expertise to address the topic, Vista
Research will ask for the SIL Member's availability to conduct
the call. An email is then sent to both the SIL Member and client
to confirm the call time. If you are contacted by a Vista
Research representative, a timely response is appreciated to
expedite the process.
- Once a consultation is confirmed the Vista Research
client will call the SIL Member directly at the scheduled time. If
the client should fail to call within 10 minutes of that
designated time, the SIL Member should contact his or her Vista
Research representative immediately to reschedule the call. Vista
Research does not pay for time spent waiting for a call.
- Within 24 hours of the completion of a consultation ,
the SIL Member will receive an email with a link to Vista
Research's invoice form.
- To access the invoice form, click on the first link
listed in the body of the email. The link will open directly to
the form; scroll down to view the invoice.
- SIL Members may also submit an invoice by logging into
Member accounts above.. All awaiting invoices can be found on the
secure "history" page.
- Once an invoice is submitted, Vista Research will
process payment and our parent company, The McGraw-Hill
Companies, will send a check in the mail.
- A SIL Member may check on the status of an invoice using
the "history" page of his or her Member account.
Please Note:
- Vista Research only pays for time spent on the phone
with a Vista Research client. Hourly rates are prorated according
to the number of minutes spent on a call. Vista Research does not
pay an hourly minimum. Vista Research confirms the length of
every call completed with all clients
- SIL Members must obtain approval from a Vista Research
representative to do additional work beyond the scope of the
consultation for a Vista Research client. Vista Research does not
pay for additional preparation or research for a call unless
prior approval has been granted.
- Please remember: If the client should fail to call
within 10 minutes of the designated call time, please contact
your Vista Research sales representative immediately to
reschedule the call. Vista Research does not pay for time spent
waiting for a consultation.
- SIL Members are only scheduled for a consultation after

of Ethics.
